Cancellations and missed appointments
Although we understand that things happen and schedules do change we ask that you provide us with at least 24 hours’ notice for any appointment changes. Missed appointments prevent us from scheduling another patient that could benefit from our services. We schedule individual time with each patient to allow us to deliver the quality, personal care that every patient deserves.
We do offer a text and email reminder service 48hrs prior to your appointment, if you would like to arrange this then please ask our reception team who will be happy to set this up for you.
Cancellations should be made by telephone or by email:
Telephone: 0208 841 5008
Email: info@ivorydentalpractice.co.uk
If you fail to attend a pre-booked NHS appointment on more than one occasion or cancel late within 48hrs then we will have no alternative than to remove you from our NHS list. You will have the option to continue your oral health care with Ivory Dental on a private basis and charged our private fees. These fees can be found on here or at reception. Late cancellation of or failure to attend a pre-booked private appointment will result in a charge.
It is our aim to telephone or write to patients after a missed appointment to understand the reason for non-attendance and to inform them about our decision about their NHS dental care.
Removal form NHS list
It is important to note that due to the high demand for NHS appointments, where patients fail to attend appointments as per thee above policy, or they do not attend for three years, it is usual practice for them to be removed from the practice NHS list. This is to ensure we can offer NHS appointments to patients who require them. To avoid this happening, we encourage all patients to attend their examination appointments routinely and regularly. Again, You will have the option to continue your care with us on a private basis. Alternatively you can call NHS 111 to locate a practice that is currently accepting new NHS patients.
Any appeals about missed or cancelled appointment should be made in writing either by post or email info@ivorydentalpractice.co.uk
